Today’s Obama Fact of the Day comes courtesy of Press Secretary Jay Carney, who took it upon himself to attack those evil private equity firms.
On radio this morning, Glenn played a some audio from yesterday’s White House press conference.
To begin, let’s here Carney’s thoughts on why it is okay to keep attacking private equity firms:
CARNEY: The experience he had as a community organizer and a State senator and then as a United States senator were the experience that he believed helped qualify him for the presidency, he made the case and – that that record...
REPORTER: He didn't do it as a community organizer. He did it as a President. My question is: Why are you saying that he would run things...
CARNEY: Because the governor himself – because the governor himself has said as much. He's not running, that I can tell, on his record or that you can, because he hasn't on his record in Massachusetts. He's running as a businessman who can do for America what he did in private equity and that, I think – I think Americans would expect that that – credential deserves some scrutiny.
In that case, doesn’t President Obama’s record deserve some scrutiny as well?
Glenn moved on to the audio clip of Carney answering a question about the how hypocritical it is for the President to accept money from the leaders of the private equity firms his campaign deaminizes:
REPORTER: Another question I've heard asked a lot about this is, you know, isn't it hypocritical for the President to attack Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital and then hold fundraisers and take donations from private...
CARNEY: The issue – those folks are not running for President. They do not believe that their experience in their line of work wholly qualifies them to sit in the oval office and be commander in chief and make the kinds of decisions on the economy that a President must make. He appreciates support from Americans from every walk of life and from every area of the economy and as you know, I'm sure you've reported on it, the – you know, the fact of the matter is the President's support as demonstrated by contributions is demonstrative – comes demonstratively from small – people who contribute just a little bit. They're not from huge donors at all. For more details on that, I'm sure the campaign can help you fill…
So there you have it, yet another example of how deep the hypocrisy runs in the Obama White House.
“I don't care if you're a Democrat or Republican. It doesn't matter, if you're honest, you can absolutely tell that this is, as promised, the most transparent administration ever in the history of the United States, transparent – transparently lying,” Glenn said in response to Carney’s comments.
“It is so clear that these people are just full-fledged hypocrites and liars. He was just lying about everything he was just asked. There is no truth left in these people. The truth for us to survive as a nation needs to live and thrive inside of us. Help spread the truth.”
